Michael D Warner

Launching a third career in the summer of 1999 as a full time high school mathematics teacher at Tempe High School, home of the Buffalo, as the quest to support the ideals of life-long learning continues. Since that time I have taught Photograph, Sustainability, and Film Studies. In addition to teaching responsibilities, I am the advisor to the Robotics Club (FIRST FRC Team 1633; FIRST FTC Team 2873; and VEX Team 2873). In 2016 I retired from fulltime teaching but continue part time teaching and coaching Robotics.

Affiliated with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University since 1989 as an Assistant Professor in the Worldwide Campus for the three Phoenix area Centers: Williams Gateway, Sky Harbor and Luke AFB. Areas of instructional emphasis have included the mathematics series, physics, meteorology, environmental science, aviation safety and aircraft accident investigation.

Educational background and experience includes a BS in Biology from Baylor University, MS in Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, CA and Secondary Teaching Certificate from Arizona State University specializing in Mathematics and Technology in the Classroom and a Master of Education in Adult Education and Distance Learning from the University of Phoenix completed in January, 2004.

A retired Navy helicopter pilot with specializations in carrier Search And Rescue and AntiSubmarine Warfare Operations as well as assignments of Squadron Safety Officer and Joint Staff duties specializing in multi-service readiness issues.

Employed by America West Airlines as a Customer Service and Cargo Logistics Agent from 1989 to 1999 at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport hub.

Married with two grown sons, my wife, Mary Ellen, and I have resided in Tempe, Arizona since 1987 where we enjoy our busy lifestyles.
